Join us to prepare for the upcoming Fall Ball Softball Season! FREE to all registered/rostered Fall Ball players and are an excellent opportunity to get a start on this season! Pitchers should wear athletic clothing, cleats, bring a glove, fielders mask and provide their own (non-registered)player/adult/older sibling to catch for them. Waconia Wildcats Spring/Summer Softball 2027 10U & 12USoftball2026 Waconia Wildcats BigWest Spring/Summer Softball Season Information 10U & 12U Register by December 10, 2026 This is a competitive, skills based traveling league and an evaluation is used. There is a risk that cuts will be made, and no player is guaranteed a spot on any team regardless of team placement in previous leagues/seasons. For those who wish to skip the evaluation process and have equal playing time please register and play in our recreation league next spring/summer. Commitment is necessary to participate in this league! We expect participants to attend 90-100% of all practices and games please. 10U-12U play in the Big West Softball league, 2 local MN/Western WI tournaments in May/June, State Qualifiers tournament & potentially State Tournament if they advance. Please visit MNSoftball.com for updated weekend dates for the Qualifiers and State tournament for 2026. **PLEASE KEEP YOUR MAY/JUNE/JULY weekends available until your coach indicates what weekends you'll have tournaments, likely around mid Feb. Practices will begin after Waconia schools Spring Break week in March, likely indoors pending weather. Practices are typically held on weeknights but may also be held on weekends. Sunday evening practices seem to be a popular selection by coaches once games get going. Practices will be 1-2 times a week, pending game and tournament schedules for that particular team weekly. Age Chart can be viewed on our site. Priority for roster spots on 10U teams will be given to players who are 10U & 9U eligible per the MN Softball age calculator and chart. Players who are 8U eligible are welcome to register, but will only be rostered TO FILL/COMPLETE a 10U team if needed. 10U/12U - Must attend ISD #110 Waconia Schools or reside in Waconia District Boundaries to register and attend evaluations. There is no guarantee that there will be enough players to fill out a team. If there are enough girls, multiple teams could be created. Independent evaluators will be used. WAA and the Softball Advisory Board will also consider previous season coaches evaluations to create teams. In the event you were evaluated and not selected to the Big West Softball League you will receive a full refund minus the $15 evaluation fee/$10 processing fee ($25 total.) An email will be sent after evaluations to explain additional softball options. League games will be played one or two nights per week, Mon-Thursday, however, if games are rescheduled due to weather you could potentially play other days of the week. The league plays double headers on game nights. Tournaments will be on weekends in May/June/(State Tournament end of June or could be early July pending MN Softball schedule for 2026...TBD.) UNIFORM SIZING: All uniforms will be available at the January evaluation for participants to try on so the correct size is ordered. A parent/guardian must come in to tryouts with their player and have the child try on the jersey. Sample uniform sizes can also be tried on at our office during office hours. Please get sized before the evaluation date. WAA is not liable if the uniform was not tried on and the correct size wasn’t selected. You will be responsible for purchasing a replacement uniform if needed. $480 Fee Includes: *Participants that plan to play summer 2027 ONLY owe an additional $25 non-refundable evaluation fee at the time of registration. If you played Fall softball 2026, you have already paid your $25 evaluation fee. PLEASE NOTE- If you register before December 10th, the price will show $510 until you get to checkout where the $30 off early bird fee will be applied. Uniform top, two MN tournaments, State Qualifier Tournament, State Tournament(if earned), game and field supplies, administration and a $25 non-refundable evaluation fee and processing fee.**Other fees may apply based on if the team/coaches decide to play/qualify for additional tournaments. Payment & registration must be turned in prior to evaluations. Please register and pay by July 15, 2026 to attend the July 28, 2026 evaluation. On October 16, 2026 your card will be charged $240 with the remaining balance of $240 charged on November 13, 2026. After November 13, 2026 a payment plan is no longer offered and you’ll need to pay the full fee. If you register after December 10, 2026 add $30 for a total of $510. Big West Softball Refunds for SUMMER 2027: A full refund will be given minus $25 (processing fee and evaluation fee) from July 30-January 10th. After January 10, 2027 we cannot offer a refund/credit/transfer. At the completion of the season, assigned volunteer coaches will receive a $250 account credit to apply to a future program registration. Ideal team roster size is 11-13 players and no player is guaranteed a spot on any team regardless of team placement in previous leagues/seasons. Please know that there is a potential of player CUTS. At the time of registration please plan to register for each softball season separately. > Fall 2026 Softball Season> Summer 2027 Softball Season*Different teams WILL be formed for each season. Each season has a separate registration and fee. There is no guarantee that there will be enough players to fill out a team. There could also be an opportunity to form more than one team. If you are age eligible 14’s and willing to play-up please note that on your registration for consideration. Independent evaluators, board members and/or coaches evaluations could/will be used to form teams. Practices will take place in August & September 1-2 nights a week in Waconia. 2-3 volunteer coaches are needed! Please indicate volunteer coaching interest at the time of registration. If needed, a more thorough application will be used to identify coaches. There is an extremely quick turnaround time for fall ball so potential coaches may likely be identified prior to evaluations. If you are interested in coaching please reach out in July. Games will be played on Sundays at neutral host sites on August 23, 30, September 13, 20 & 27. The Fall Ball State Tournament is Sunday, September 27th. $155 Fee Includes: 1 Uniform t-shirt top and a $25 non-refundable evaluation fee and processing fee. We are not able to offer a refund/credit/transfer after your player attends tryouts on August 10th and is placed on a team that evening. West Metro Prowlers Summer SoftballSoftballWest Metro Prowlers BigWest League / Metro Area High School Summer League 2027 Register by December 9, 2026 West Metro Prowlers Fastpitch Softball 14U & 16U/18U/HS - Summer 2027 This is a competitive, skills, community based traveling league and an evaluation is used. Ideal team roster size is 11-13 players and no player is guaranteed a spot on any team regardless of team placement in previous leagues/seasons. Teams will be formed with players that have competitive experience and skill level to compete in the MN Softball BigWest/Metro Area HS League, 2 local MN/WI tournaments, State Qualifiers tournament & potentially State Tournament. PLAYER AVAILABILITY FOR SUMMER: Participants should make themselves AVAILABLE for ALL June weekends until they know their tournament schedule, likely finalized March 2027. Participants should be available for the July Qualifiers Tournament and State Tournament. These dates will likely be noted soon on the MN Softball Site. For 2027 we will rely on volunteer parent or non-parent assistant coaches and potentially a team manager. We haven't had luck with non-parent full time coaching applicants for our teams and parents have been assigned to coach for the past 5 years. 14U & 16U/18U/HS - Anyone interested regardless of where you live or go to school can register for West Metro Prowlers Softball. Historically our program participants have resided in Waconia, Carver, Cologne, Delano, Mayer, Minnetrista, Eden Prairie, New Germany, Norwood-Young America, Excelsior, Chaska, Glencoe, St. Bonifacius, Hutchinson, Lester Prairie, Victoria, Winsted & MORE! *Please note, depending on your community/school, you MAY need a waiver to tryout and play with us. Please check in with your home association before registering with Prowlers. MN Softball Bylaws There is no guarantee that there will be enough players to fill out a team. We support multi-sport athletes so please pick and choose what position specific, hitting, pitching and catching training opportunities work into your schedule as they are presented locally or at nearby facilities. We HIGHLY encourage our athletes to train in the off season at whatever facilities work best in their schedule. We ask for your team softball commitment beginning spring/summer 2027 (Mid May-July.) During the primary softball season of June/July players are expected to make softball their top priority sport and attend 90%-100% practices and games. On Feb 5, 2027 your card will be charged $490. Refunds: A full refund will be given minus $25 (processing fee and evaluation fee) up until January 13, 2027. Once teams are posted you will have 48 hours to accept or decline your roster spot. We cannot offer a refund/credit/transfer after the 48 hours of the teams being posted. West Metro Prowlers Evaluations will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026 (Outdoors) & Sunday, January 10, 2027 (Indoors)You must attend at least one evaluation, however, we strongly recommend attending both evaluation dates. The August tryout will be held at the Waconia High School Varsity Softball Fields (purple dugouts located between Waconia HS and Waconia MS) and Waconia High School East Diamonds #3 & #4.
