2027 Metro Baseball Season

Metro Baseball is a competitive and skills based traveling league. All participants must attend their age appropriate player evaluation. Games can start as early as mid April and go through the month of July. Players cannot play in both Metro and one of our recreational leagues. 

Registrations for playing up with your grade need to be pre-approved by contacting Recreation Coordinator Derek Veldhuisen at 952-856-4520.

Fall Tryout Dates for the 2027 Metro Season:

Saturday Sep 12, 2026

• 9U - 1:00pm to 3:00pm
• 10U - 3:00pm to 5:00pm
• 11U - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Saturday Sept. 26, 2026

• 12U - 1:00pm to 3:00pm
• 13U - 3:00pm to 5:00pm
• 14U - 5:00pm to 7:00pm
  
  Sunday September 27th, 2026 - West Diamonds A and B
  13U Scrimmage - 4:00pm to 5:30pm
  14U Scrimmage - 5:30pm to 7:00pm

15U Metro registration will be open through March 24th. An evaluation will be set up for Saturday March 27th in the Middle School Gym. Tryout window will be expected to be between 5pm and 8pm. This is to give all players to tryout for HS baseball and learn about their opportunities with Legion baseball for next summer.

If your player is unable to attend their time slot please Inform Derek Veldhuisen at dveldhuisen@isd110.org if your player will need to tryout during another age groups time.

Baseball Fees:

9U - At the time of registration you will pay a non refundable $25 tryout fee. If your child is assigned to a Metro baseball team your payment will be split into 2 payments. 

The first payment is due November 5th. Second payment is due December 3rd.

10u through 14u Metro Baseball - At the time of registration you will pay a non refundable $25 tryout fee. If your child is assigned to a Metro baseball team your payment will be split into 2 payments. 

The first payment is due November 5th. Second payment is due December 3rd.

The $25 dollar tryout fee is non refundable and goes towards the operation of the tryouts.

The league fee includes 2 uniform tops, hat, three tournaments, equipment, game and field supplies, field/facility rentals, umpire fees, administration, coaching training/clinics, indoor open gyms run by high school coaches and board members, and indoor batting cage/gym time. 

15u Baseball - We will host the tryout in the fall but will wait to make teams post high school tryouts. This is to allow our 15u players a chance to see if they will be playing Legion or Metro for that summer. There will be a $25 registration fee before tryouts. 

Once teams are formed in March first payment will come out first April 9th and second payment will come our May 7th.
